Gareth Paddison made the most of the difficult morning conditions and stormed home with five under par for his final seven holes for a round of 66. Gareth has won the Muriwai Open for the past two years and is off to a great start to make it three in a row. The conditions were squally this morning with some heavy showers but gradually deteriorated as the day went on with strong winds and frequent showers. Paddison leads by a stroke from 2016 winner Dan Pearce and amateur Kerry Mountcastle on 67. Dongwoo Kang, Lachie McDonald and Mark Hutson are all on four under par 68.
