Jake Meenhorst continues his consistent form after the first event of the year at Whitford Park Golf Club. After coming 2nd at Whitford Park a string of good results at the Palmerston North Golf Club, Marton Golf Club, Martinborough Golf Club and Masterton Golf Club in the last week has him overtaking Harry Na in what is a tight race leading into the first Charles Tour Event of the year.
 
Over the last week the Ramada PGA Pro Am Series has rolled through the Central North Island with four different events producing different winners every day. The 18 Hole Palmerston North Pro Am on Tuesday 17th saw local Head Professional, Hamish Campbell, share spoils with Auckland professional Sung Jin Yeo taking his first win in New Zealand. The Marton Pro Am on Wednesday 18th January, Taupo Golf Club head professional won with -5 67 around the long and tricky Marton layout. The Tour made the trip over the the Manawatu Gorge to Martinborough on the 19th of January where the course was set up for some ripe scoring. New Zealand Amateur winner Charlie Smail, in his second professional start shared the spoils with Australian touring pro Chang Gi Lee with host scores of -8 64.
 
The long week was capped off at the Recreational Services Eketahuna/Masterton Pro Am on the 21st & 22nd of January where both courses were presented in fine condition for the events 30th year celebrations. Round one saw Palmerston North Head Professional, Hamish Campbell continue his good golf from his home course with a round of 64 tied with Tauranga Professional James Tauariki. They however could not keep out Jordan Loof in round two, who ran away with it at the Masterton Golf Course shooting a sublime -9 62 to win by two shots over Hamish Campbell.
 
The tour moves to Hastings this week for the first Charles Tour event of the year, the Wallace Developments Hastings Open where Jake will be looking to solidify his position in the Order of Merit, with a spot in the New Zealand open on the line if he is the highest ranked player not qualified, and in the top 3 by the New Zealand Super 6s at Manawatu Golf Club.
