The Jennian Homes Charles Tour event known as the DVS Pegasus Open will have a new host venue this year at the Clearwater Golf Club and will be known as the DVS Clearwater Open.

Following successful greens renovations, the Pegasus Golf Club was hit with a series of devastating weather events and continuous days of cold temperatures stagnating any growth, which rendered the green surfaces not being up to the Pegasus Golf Clubs' usual high standards and not what they would expect to present for a premier golf tournament.

The club was forced to make the difficult decision that they would not be able to host the event in 2022.

After discussions between the Clearwater Golf Club, Golf New Zealand, Tournament Promoter Mike Godinet and the CEO of the major sponsor DVS, Tony Sandes, the parties were able to come to terms to ensure that New Zealand's leading professional golfers would still be able to compete for the $50,000 prize purse on offer.

With the short notice of hosting the tournament at Clearwater Golf Club, it will reduce to a 54-hole affair from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 October with the pre-tournament pro-am to be played on Thursday 13 October.
