Well done to Pieter Zwart (Captain), Dongwoo Kang, Brad Shilton and Jared Pender. It was a great week at the inaugural event played at the Kyalami Country Club, Johannesburg, South Africa.  Even though the team finished fourth, some very good golf was played on a very hard and fast course, with challenging greens.  The Canadian Team played well, winning the tournament and beating the Australians, who charged home fast, overtaking the South African team that had been leading.

The Four Nations Cup will be played in Australia in 2023, Canada in 2024 and New Zealand in 2025.

Qualifying for the Four Nations Cup will begin with the winner of the Club Pro Championship, to be played as part of the Kaikoura Pro Am 2022. The Board will confirm the qualification criteria for the other three spots in conjunction with the Chair of the TPC at the board meeting next week.

I was proud to represent the NZ PGA to mark the 100th Year celebrations of the South African PGA.  The event was held in conjunction with their annual PGA Graduation and award dinner at the Bryanston Country Club in Johannesburg. PGA Presidents and CEO’s from many countries were in attendance and it was a pleasure to meet and share our common goals for the game.

With full board agreement we are delighted to welcome Kristine Kerr to the NZPGA Board.  Kristine is well known for her golf course architecture business.  She brings extensive golf knowledge here in NZ and Internationally plus many great golf connections around the world.

She has been active in the changing nature of the golf industry here in NZ and internationally.  Through her interview process it was clear she very much understands the challenges facing the golf industry, and the important role the PGA professional plays in the game.

The board looks forward to welcoming Kristine formally at next week's meeting.

All board members have been tasked to follow up on outstanding fees owed by members.  It is not a process that board members enjoy undertaking but it is essential that we collaborate with members to ensure we tidy up outstanding balances, and ensure we have the funds to undertake the activities that you as members desire.

The roles of Vocational Manager and Tournament Manager should be announced before the end of the month.  The standard of applicants has been extremely strong, and we are look forward to having the managers in place as soon as practicable.

Stay dry and I hope with daylight saving kicking in this weekend you all have an opportunity to get out and play a little more golf.
