FOUR NATIONS CUP

Well done to Pieter Zwart (Captain), Dongwoo Kang, Brad Shilton and Jared Pender. It was a great week at the inaugural event played at the Kyalami Country Club, Johannesburg, South Africa.  Even though the team finished fourth, some very good golf was played on a very hard and fast course, with challenging greens.  The Canadian Team played well, winning the tournament and beating the Australians, who charged home fast, overtaking the South African team that had been leading.

The Four Nations Cup will be played in Australia in 2023, Canada in 2024 and New Zealand in 2025.

Qualifying for the Four Nations Cup will begin with the winner of the Club Pro Championship, to be played as part of the Kaikoura Pro Am 2022. The Board will confirm the qualification criteria for the other three spots in conjunction with the Chair of the TPC at the board meeting next week.

PGA OF SOUTH AFRICA CENTENARY

I was proud to represent the NZ PGA to mark the 100th Year celebrations of the South African PGA.  The event was held in conjunction with their annual PGA Graduation and award dinner at the Bryanston Country Club in Johannesburg. PGA Presidents and CEO’s from many countries were in attendance and it was a pleasure to meet and share our common goals for the game.
