The PGA Professionals joined 90 ladies at the Barfoot and Thompson Women’s Pro Am at Warkworth which was a brilliant showcase of just what sport and golf can bring to people in our communities.

A field of 90 amateur ladies arrived in the morning buzzing and gearing up for a fun day out on the course. The enthused and positive vibe was catching and as the Ladies moved out to the perfectly prepared Warkworth Golf Couse the day had already become the showcase of just what Women’s Sport can bring.

Connecting socially and emotionally during the Pro Am round soaking up the Kowhai coast scenery the warm social atmosphere continued as the players embarked back into the club house.

Adding to the excitement as the arrivals came back in the clubhouse enjoyed watching Trevor Marshall shoot an impressive 2 on the Par 4 18th hole to raptus cheers in the growing gallery.

Pieter Zwart shot and impressive 65 closing the round as the winner with Dongwoo Kang very closely there on 66. Illustrating the tight contest, it was Tae Koh, Mason Lee and Sam An all tied for third on 67.

A special day for women’s sport and the Warkworth club did delver on its goal of producing its best Pro Am yet and next year’s Barfoot and Thompson Women’s Pro Am is going to go the next step again.
