PGA Tour China Series
A great start and a great finish earned a top 10 for Luke Kwon at the Chongqing Championship with a 14 under par total. On a rare par 73 layout, Kwon bookended 72’s with 67’s to get up for a share of 7th place on Sunday afternoon. Ryan Chisnall posted a 67 of his own in round 2 but was floating around par the rest of the week, T38th.

Alps Tour
The Alps Tour Winter Series is a condensed schedule with 3 events played in Cairo in a 2 week period. Shaun Jones has finished in 36th in the first of 3, the Dreamland Pyramids Open with 73, 71, 74, 2 over par total.

Next up for Jones was the New Giza Open. A case of ‘two out of three ain’t bad’… 71, 68 had Jones within reach of the leaders but a final round 75 made a move in the wrong direction on the leaderboard into a share of 18th.

Web.Com Tour
Nick Voke (69, 69, 74, 74), Steven Alker (69, 68, 73, 73) and Tim Wilkinson (66, 74, 74, 74) all started the week well but couldn’t manage to keep the pace over the weekend at the Savannah Golf Championship. Alker finishing 42nd, Voke 65th and Wilkinson 74th.

LPGA Tour
Lydia Ko continues a solid season, slotting into another top 15 finish at the Kia Classic in Carlsbad, California. Ko seems to be warming up nicely for next week’s first major of the year.

The final leg of the Cairo stretch for Shaun Jones is the Katameya Dunes Open. Jones, looking for his maiden Alps Tour win, is coming in with some solid form under his belt.

Jennian Homes Charles Tour
Josh Geary and Mike Hendry will headline a field of NZ’s top players at the first Charles Tour event of the year, the Barfoot and Thompson Akarana Open. The winners of the previous 5 years are all in the field, including Gareth Paddison who is a multiple winner of the event. If the weather plays along there are sure to be plenty of low scores over the week.

Danny Lee is again the lone Kiwi playing the US PGA Tour this week. The Valero Texas Open will be held at the TPC San Antonio.

Lydia Ko tees it up in the first women’s Major of the year, the ANA Inspiration. Played as usual at the Dinah Shore Tournament Course in Rancho Mirage, California, Ko won’t need to search too far for some inspiration of her own, having lifted the trophy in 2016.
