Luke Kwon scored an incredible nine under par 61 today to go with a 68 yesterday and win the Grove Mitre 10 Pupuke Pro-am. Luke began his round with a birdie at the 6th hole in the shotgun start format and after pars through the tenth hole his round ignited with a run of eagle, birdie, par, birdie, birdie, birdie, par, birdie, birdie to reach nine under with four holes remaining. Four pars were good enough to overtake local hero Michael Hendry to win by one stroke. Hendry was playing in his first pro event at the course where he was a junior and his rounds of 64, 66 were impressive around the superbly prepared tricky layout. Tied for third place with scores of 66, 67 were Mark Hutson and Denzel Ieremia.
