Mark Brown scorched around the Tauranga Golf Course today in a record equalling score of 59. Even more remarkable was the fact that this was the second 59 Mark has recorded at the Tauranga Golf Club. Brown recorded nine birdies and an eagle to surge to the lead after two rounds of the Carrus Tauranga Open which is part of the Jennian Homes Tour. With a total of 11 under par 129 Mark leads by two strokes from the in form James Anstiss. James (66,64 ) lost the Autex Muriwai Open last week after a three hole sudden death playoff with Gareth Paddison and is keen to go one better this week. Tied for third place on eight under are amateur Kerry Mountcastle (65,67 ) , Dongwoo Kang (68,64 ), Lachie McDonald (67,65 ) and overnight leader Daniel Hillier (64,68 ).
