Geary Wins the Harcourts Waitangi Pro-am

Josh Geary won the Harcourts Waitangi Pro-am today after finally outlasting Dongwoo Kang on the fourth hole of a sudden death playoff. Both players finished regulation play with six under par rounds of 66 in difficult conditions at the Waitangi course. Heavy rain yesterday and overnight coupled with an ominous weather forecast for today made any play seem very unlikely. The rain sodden course was on the very edge of playability with several greens having to be cleared of surface water to allow play to continue. Tournament sponsors and administrators were delighted that they were able to complete play and the professionals were able to earn prize money.

In third place alone was rookie professional Luke Toomey on 67 and Fraser Wilkin and Mark Brown tied for fourth position on 68.
