Mount Maunganui professional Hayden Beard is the first round leader at the Mondiale Omaha Beach Pro am with a stunning eight under par 62. This is the 20th Anniversary of the Pro am and it carries the most prize money for a two day event on the NZPGA Pro am circuit. Hayden played an almost faultless ball striking round today and it may have been even lower if a few more putts had dropped. Hayden leads by a single stroke from NZ Open champion Michael Hendry and in third place is Campbell Rawson on 64. Jared Pender, Harry Bateman and Kwanghue Kim are a further two strokes behind on 66
