Remarkably, the last seven PGA Tour events have been won by just two players: Hideki Matsuyama of Japan, and the 22 year old American player Justin Thomas.  Thomas has been totally dominant over the last two weeks, starting the Sony Open with a 59 – almost a routine score these days  - and setting a PGA Tour record of 17 under par at the 36 hole mark, before going on to win with an astonishing four round tally of  27 under par, seven shots ahead of runner up Justin Rose, with Jordan Spieth a further shot adrift in 3rd place.

Tim Wilkinson completed a solid week’s golf to finish on -10, which normally would have guaranteed a Top 20 finish, but with hot scoring all around, a T36 result was his reward.  That still moves him 10 places up the FedEx Cup ladder to 114#, whereas Steven Alker’s missed cut in the same tournament dropped him down to 124#.
