Tae Koh won the first event for the 2017 season with a clutch putt for par to defeat Brad Hayward on the second hole of a sudden death playoff after both players finished on 139 (three under par). Tae's victory in the Cardinal Logistics Whitford Park Pro am was his first win as a professional. Many players were a little rusty after the Christmas break and the Whitford Park  course provided a stern test with fast greens and blustery conditions. Most of New Zealand's top professionals supported the tournament with Mike Hendry, Ryan Fox, Josh Geary, Dan Pearce and Brad Shilton among those preparing for a busy year on International Tours.
